The last day of relaxation was spent
in the shopping plaza while ISEF volunteers made their last
checks for SRC violations in the hall. Unless you were cited
for a violation by nightfall, you were free to roam or the
day.
Intel offered another activity for all student finalists
and teachers, which is truly a once in a lifetime experience.
Their highly acclaimed "excellence in science and technology
panel" is comprised of a small handful of Nobel Prize
laureates. The session also allowed for students to ask
questions directly to the panel and for photo-taking opportunities
at the end of the activity.
That night, Phoenix invited
all of the finalists to the student mixer at a recreational
area that they called Copper Square. Copper Square was basically
a park with booths of international food set up all around
the area, which eventually led up to Arizona's science museum
which was open and free to the public that night. Everybody
headed off to bed early that night because we had a big
day of judging ahead of us.
