With the sheer amount of information on the Internet, help is never more than a few clicks away. While the most popular of online resources appears to be geared towards literature, websites such as SparkNotes have branched out from their original literary focus and now offer resources for math science and foreign language subjects as well.

SparkNotes, probably the largest and most visited site offers a large collection summaries and analysis of popular texts. CliffNotes (and maybe PinkMonkey)are invaluable resources for every high school student. However sometimes the text you happen to be looking for isn't on either of those sites. A few alternatives I've come across are WikiSummaries and LitSum. They both offer respectable collections of summaries for when you absolutely can't find the time to read, or need a refresher on the plot. I've found stories on LitSum that neither SparkNotes nor Cliffnotes had.

Online resources isn't just limited to literature however. As previously mentioned, Sparknotes features content for a wide range of AP courses. Math.com and WebMath both offer easy-to-follow online tutorials and exercises to help reinforce those tricky concepts.

When seeking help online, it's important to know where to look. For any general topics, a great place to start is Answers.com. It searches many popular online sources including Wikipedia, Columbia University Press, Thompson-Gale, American Heritage Dictionary and many others. Some distinguishing features include pre-formed citations and its suggested resources relevant to your search query.
