General Description and awards and rules:
Students that utilize technology to solve problems creatively
and to learn more intuitively should consider the Apple
Scholars program. Apple Inc. established the program to
foster the use of Apple products in academia by providing
college-bound students with technology and scholarship money.
Apple Scholars is open to graduating high school students
who will continue their studies at a two-year or four-year
accredited college or university in the fall of 2007 and
who are also legal residents of the United States. Applying
to the scholarship entails writing an essay and submitting
some original work of video, animation, podcast, music composition,
photos, or a brief written work. Winners receive a MacBook,
an iPod, and $ 2000! Eligible students must prove their
intent to attend college by means of an acceptance letter
and proof of deposit to the university. Any employees of
Apple Inc., their affiliates, subsidiaries, and so forth
and any family members of these employees (or individuals
living in the same household) are not eligible to apply.
