Learning Vocabulary:

Using Vocab Words - In my mind there are two highly effective ways to learn and remember vocabulary. Using the words in speech and writing is the best way to create the neural connections for your memory.

Mnemonic Devices - The second way to remember vocab (or anything for that matter) is to create a memory-association. Mnemonic devices, where you rhyme your vocab word or associate the word with something similar, are used by any students (med students, law students, etc) who need to memorize large amounts of information.

Round One - A vocabulary tournament that I created in my spare time. I have no qualms about being a dork. My students surprisingly have a good time with it (althought they will never admit that). Here are half of the events.
