John Zhou - Founder and Administrator
John is currently a Harvard College student, basking in
the easy life of early morning problem sets and stale cereal.
Through a combination of work and the fortune of having
a supportive network of family, friends, and teachers, he
has had a successful high school experience, scoring 2400
on the first new SAT, conducting award winning research,
and making significant contributions in volunteering. He
sees Scholar Holler as a valuable network and resource for
students and hopes that it will help students to achieve
their goals.
Anish Gupta - Director of Test Preparation and
Administrator
Anish Gupta is nobody special who performs well on standardized
tests. (Edit by John: he's actually pretty awesome and definitely
special). Anish started teaching SATs and ACTs to his two
younger brothers and has continued to teach other testing
strategies and material ever since. He just graduated from
the University of Michigan with a simultaneous B.S.E/M.S.E.
in Biomedical engineering and currently is in dental school
at the University of Detroit-Mercy.
Mithun Neral - Director of Publicity and Administrator
Mithun was a Siemens-Westinghouse regional finalist and
a veteran of many different science fairs and science competitions.
He is currently a University of Michigan student interested
in both science and business. Aside from having tea and
crumpets with the gang on the weekends, Mithun enjoys long
walks on the beach. Some say that if you look hard (really
hard) Brad Pitt has a slight resemblance of Mithun. Most
importantly, Mithun has a really big mouth which has proven
to be quite useful in his job of getting the word out about
Scholar Holler. Mithun is proud to be part of Scholar Holler
and wishes all its members good luck through their years
of scholarship.
Sam Rosenberg - Director
of Summer Programs and Administrator
Sam is a twice winning semifinalist for the U.S. Physics
Olympiad and a one time semifinalist for the U.S. Biology
Olympiad, and has excelled at many other math and science
competitions. He hails from a competitive public high school
in the Silicon Valley, and hopes to parlay this experience
into insights on the college admissions process. Sam currently
is a Harvard College student studying mathematics and economics.
His non-academic interests include art, cooking, and traveling.
Sam invites anyone to contact him for more personalized
advice.
Jonathon Schwartz - Director of Clubs and Administrator
Jon is a University of Michigan student who used Open Course
Ware to ace the International Baccalaureate exams, become
a US National Chemistry Olympiad Semifinalist, and succeed
(or at least try to succeed) in Science Olympiad competitions.
For leisure, Jonathon enjoys asking questions about philosophical
questions, and likewise enjoys never having to take responsibility
to answer them (except when the topic involves academics
and anything for Scholar Holler). Occasionally, he practices
classical piano when a muse accidentally visits his attention.
Jon hopes to utilize his experience and knowledge to guide
you along the path to academic success, and to provide advice
when you come across a fork in the road, or lose the map
you had, or doubt the map you had, or do not understand
the map, or you trip and fall, or I should stop listing
all these possibilities. You get the idea anyway.
